Music is my religion

I haven't done a singer spotlit thingy but I'm going to try it. Brendon Boyd Urie is an American singer, songwriter and musician. He was born in St. George, Utah and soon moved to Las Vegas, Nevada after about a year or two. His birthday is April 12, 1987. During his school years he wasn't the most popular kid. He soon started getting into music and started playing different instruments. He can play the acoustic guitar, bass guitar, drums, piano, cello, didgeridoo, Mandolin, and of course vocals.

Brendon hitting his high notes

His music career started in 2004. He started and still is in the band Panic! At The Disco. If you have read any of my blog you probably heard of Panic! before. The band started with Brendon, Spencer Smith, Ryan Ross, and Brent Wilson. Brendon was asked to try out for the guitarist, but everyone found out he had amazing vocals so Ryan (the original lead singer) decided to give the part to Brendon. If it wasn't for Ryan then Panic! At The Disco wouldn't be a band.

The original members

Soon Ryan and Brent left the band and Brendon and Spencer let in Jon Walker and Dallon Weekes. Spencer and Jon left in 2009 and now Brendon is the only one in the band, but there are still three members for tours. The touring members are Dallon Weekes, Kenneth Harris, and Dan Pawlovich. Brendon is the only one who writes the music now and he records it all in his recording room. He calls his recording room Urieletric.

In 2013 Brendon Urie married Sarah Orzechowski. The two got married on April 27, 2013. They had a beautiful Malibu wedding There were about 70 or so people at their wedding. Friends, family, and so of Panic's! band mates were invited to this wedding.

Sarah and Brendon <3

The two are now happily married with no children, but has two dogs living in a lovely home in Los Angeles, California. Brendon recently released his newest album on January 13, 2016; called Death of A Bachelor. Part of the album was actually dedicated to Sarah. A lot of the songs like Death Of A Bachelor, Impossible Year, and somewhat LA Devote (part of that song was about his love for LA too).

shattering everything that has reflections of you

A newer Indie Pop band is Misterwives. The band was formed in New York City, New York in 2012. The genre of music they play is Indie Pop and Alternative Dance. They have one Ep album and one full album. Their Ep album is Reflections and the full album is Our Own House. I have been listing to Misterwives for a couple of monts and it was a lovely choice I made!

The title of this blog post, Shattering anything that has reflections of you, is from the song Reflections. Reflections is the very first song i ever heared by Misterwives. Now it turns out to be one of my favorite songs! I feel like this song can make you feel like if you lose someone who hurt you, you can prove that you don't need them.

Albums:

Reflections:

Reflections is Misterwives first debut Ep album. It was released on January 7, 2014. There are six songs on this Ep. Songs included on this album are Reflections, Coffins, Vagabond, Kings and Queens, Imagination Infatuation, and Twisted Tongue. All the songs are very upbeat and no slow songs.

Our Own House:

Misterwives first full album, Our Own House, was released on February 24, 2015. As of July in 2015 they hit number 31 on the Billboard top 200. The album has twelve songs on it, including some songs from their Ep. All songs on this albums are Our Own House, Reflections, Kings and Queens, Imagination Infatuation, Queens, Coffins, Vagabond, Best I can Do, Hurricane, Box Around The Sun, Not Your Way, Oceans, and No Need For Dreaming. My favorite songs have to be Reflections and Imagination Infatuation. It is really had to choose a favorite song but it's probably those two.

Awe their cute!

but you're not a piece of art*

If anyone knows how to be a heartbreaker it's Marina And The Diamonds. In August of 2014 one weekend two of my friends were bored so they looked up the How To Be A Heartbreaker music video and showed me who Marina And The Diamonds is. First of all a great song choice/ music video from Marina by the way. I instantly fell in love with her music. Her songs are amazing and oh my goodness do I wish I could be similar to her.

Marina Lambrini Diamandis is a Welsh singer-songwriter. She was born on October 10, 1985 in Brynmawr. Her stage name is Marina And The Diamonds and people try to say the diamonds are her band mates but the diamonds are actually her fans. She has released three full albums, had two unreleased albums, and two EP's. Each of the three albums about three years apart. In the three albums is a new era of her. All showing how she has improved herself.

Here is the title of this blog. This lyric is actually from the song Power and Control for Marina's Electra Heart album. I love this song so much and definitely think you should listen to it. Oh and also watch the music video!

Albums:

Mermaid Vs Sailor:

For Marinas very first starting music album this was amazing. Yes it was obvious the recording room was the greatest and she was on the top of the list for singers, but compared to nearly every single musical artist when they first started Marina was the best. This album shows that she was most likely going to make it far and she has! I don't listen to this album as much as the others but all the songs are wonderful.

The Family Jewels:

The Family Jewels is Marina's first real album. This album came out on February 15, 2010. She released singles before releasing this album. Songs such as Obsessions, Hollywood, and Oh No! In this album you see Marina showing how she might hate herself. Each and every song is very wonderful and really recommended. My favorite song from this album has to be either Hermit the Frog or Oh No!

Electra Heart:

On April 27, 2012 my favorite Marina and the Diamonds album was released, Electra Heart. This is the Electra Heart ear where she actually turned into Electra Heart. Her hair, clothes, and personality was somewhat changed.  This album show Marina fighting with herself. She changed everything for this album. All the songs show how she could be fighting with herself and how she wants to be someone else. My favorite song from this album is How To Be A Heartbreaker.

Froot:

Marinas last album before her stop as a writer (for now at least) was Froot. If you don't know how to say it, it's pronounced just like fruit but spelled Froot.  In this phase it shows how Marina is accepting who she really is. The person she is now she hated in the past, but is now thinking that she is good. Each song could bring together all three eras: Froot, Electra Heart, and The Family Jewels. All the songs show how she hated herself, fought with herself, and now accepting herself. My favorite song(s) from this album is Savages and Solitare.

My Concert:

On April 14, 2015 I went to my first real concert. It of course was Marina And The Diamonds. It was the best thing ever. The opening act was Kiesza. I went with two of my friends (one my best friend at the time, but I'm still friends with both) the friends were Kristina and Jessie and my mom and their parents. I got a T-shirt and a tote bag that says Marina And The Diamonds. The show started around 10 and started with the song Bubblegum B**ch. She played songs from all three of her albums. Songs such as Obsessions, I Am Not A Robot, and Savages. I got so close to meeting her but our moms were rushing us to leave. I will always remember that day, it was amazing!

Rock and Roll

Do you listen to older music? I mean like 1980's or 1970's music. Not early 2000's music, how far back does your music taste go back to? Well I have to tell you my music taste goes all the way back to the 1960's. I guess you could say I like older music more than newer music that on the radio today. My blog today is about my favorite music artists from the 1960's to the 1980's. I was having a hard time putting the artists from favorite to least favorite, so the artists are in any random order. (:

Musical Artists

1. Led Zeppelin
The Stairway To Heaven. Ever heard of that? Well if you have its a great song by Led Zeppelin, one of the greatest bands ever. I really have no words on how to explain the band other than brilliant music!

Album: Led Zeppelin IV
Origin: London, UK
Genre: Hard Rock, Blues Rock, Folk Rock, Heavy Metal

2. Van Halen
Van Halen. Bill and Ted's dream band! Okay but forreal though Van Halen is one of the greatest bands ever and I mean ever! I know I said that about Led Zeppelin, but the two are one of the best bands ever. I'm very serious. Well some good songs are Jump, Panama, and Hot For Teacher. Jump is one of the band's most popular songs and it sounds really happy. Sadly its a very depressing song, but its still wonderful! I have been loving Van Halen more and more.

Album: 1984
Origin: Pasadena, California
Genre: Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Glam Metal

3. Queen
Queen started off as my favorite band when I was younger. Well basically since I knew what a band and music were you would always catch me listening to Queen. The song the I love the most was Bicycle Race. When I was smaller I had a little MP3 player and the only band on it was Queen. My parents would be happy because they didn't have to worry about what I was doing because I would be listening to Queen on repeat. Soon I should listen to them on repeat again ahah.

Album: Queen II
Origin: London, UK
Genre: Rock

4. Chicago
Chicago. The band that made me want to play all instruments. Well actually the song Hard to Say I'm Sorry/Get Away inspired me to play many instruments. Which started to happen. Anyways I love Chicago. They have many wonderful songs such as You're The Inspiration (a song that makes me want to cry), Hard to Say I'm Sorry, and Stay The Night. During summer time on July thrid my dad is trying to get concert tickets. Which will be very exciting! (:

Albums: Chicago 17
Origin: Chicago, Illinois
Genre: Soft Rock, Jazz Rock

5. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers
For the past couple of months (just like Van Halen and Led Zeppelin) I have getting more and more into Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Every time I'm in the truck with my dad I hear Tom Petty more and more and its a good thing. It just means I can listen to more of the songs they have.

Album: Hard Promises
Origin: Gainesville, Florida
Genre: Rock, Hard Rock, Blues Rock, Heartland Rock

6. The Who
"I'm going to listen to The Who." I would say. The person I'm talking to would say "Who? Who are you going to listen to?" It's tough sometimes when I tell my dad especially Im going to listen to The Who (him knowing who The Who is and just trying to mess with me) and he ask me many time who I'm going to listen to. So beware if you decide to listen to them. Well my grandpa introduced The Who to me, one of his favorite bands I believe. The very first song I listened to was 'Who Are You.' I find it so fun to jam out to this song! Once I made my mom listen to it while I sang (I haven't heard the song in forever so the words were messed up) and i found it wonderful.

Album: Who Are You
Origin: London, UK
Genre: Hard Rock, Power Pop

7. The Beach Boys
The Beach Boys, Oh my goodness! I love them so very much! They are very calming but very happy. Its a way to make a mood better as long as you don't listen to the couple of slower songs they have.  My grandpa gave me two of their records (Surfin' Safari and ) I could probably listen to them on repeat. The thing is I don't really have a favorite song, sadly. Well you have to know what kind of music they play right? The Beach Boys do play Pop music, Rock music, and Surf music. The thing is that it 60's Rock/ Pop. Meaning the pop/rock you're thinking of that's on the radio is totally different than 60's pop/rock. Since its not normal radio music now there's a chance that everyone won't like them but I think they are great!

Album: Surfin' Safari
Origin: Hawthorne, California

Led Zeppelin (:
