Do you listen to older music? I mean like 1980's or 1970's music. Not early 2000's music, how far back does your music taste go back to? Well I have to tell you my music taste goes all the way back to the 1960's. I guess you could say I like older music more than newer music that on the radio today. My blog today is about my favorite music artists from the 1960's to the 1980's. I was having a hard time putting the artists from favorite to least favorite, so the artists are in any random order. (:

Musical Artists

1. Led Zeppelin

 The Stairway To Heaven. Ever heard of that? Well if you have its a great song by Led Zeppelin, one of the greatest bands ever. I really have no words on how to explain the band other than brilliant music!

2. Van Halen

Van Halen. Bill and Ted's dream band! Okay but forreal though Van Halen is one of the greatest bands ever and I mean ever! I know I said that about Led Zeppelin, but the two are one of the best bands ever. I'm very serious. Well some good songs are Jump, Panama, and Hot For Teacher. Jump is one of the band's most popular songs and it sounds really happy. Sadly its a very depressing song, but its still wonderful! I have been loving Van Halen more and more.

3. Queen

Queen started off as my favorite band when I was younger. Well basically since I knew what a band and music were you would always catch me listening to Queen. The song the I love the most was Bicycle Race. When I was smaller I had a little MP3 player and the only band on it was Queen. My parents would be happy because they didn't have to worry about what I was doing because I would be listening to Queen on repeat. Soon I should listen to them on repeat again ahah.

4. Chicago

Chicago. The band that made me want to play all instruments. Well actually the song Hard to Say I'm Sorry/Get Away inspired me to play many instruments. Which started to happen. Anyways I love Chicago. They have many wonderful songs such as You're The Inspiration (a song that makes me want to cry), Hard to Say I'm Sorry, and Stay The Night. During summer time on July thrid my dad is trying to get concert tickets. Which will be very exciting! (:

5. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers

For the past couple of months (just like Van Halen and Led Zeppelin) I have getting more and more into Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Every time I'm in the truck with my dad I hear Tom Petty more and more and its a good thing. It just means I can listen to more of the songs they have.

6. The Who

"I'm going to listen to The Who." I would say. The person I'm talking to would say "Who? Who are you going to listen to?" It's tough sometimes when I tell my dad especially Im going to listen to The Who (him knowing who The Who is and just trying to mess with me) and he ask me many time who I'm going to listen to. So beware if you decide to listen to them. Well my grandpa introduced The Who to me, one of his favorite bands I believe. The very first song I listened to was 'Who Are You.' I find it so fun to jam out to this song! Once I made my mom listen to it while I sang (I haven't heard the song in forever so the words were messed up) and i found it wonderful.

7. The Beach Boys

The Beach Boys, Oh my goodness! I love them so very much! They are very calming but very happy. Its a way to make a mood better as long as you don't listen to the couple of slower songs they have.  My grandpa gave me two of their records (Surfin' Safari and ) I could probably listen to them on repeat. The thing is I don't really have a favorite song, sadly. Well you have to know what kind of music they play right? The Beach Boys do play Pop music, Rock music, and Surf music. The thing is that it 60's Rock/ Pop. Meaning the pop/rock you're thinking of that's on the radio is totally different than 60's pop/rock. Since its not normal radio music now there's a chance that everyone won't like them but I think they are great!

Its Funny How Reflections Change.

One wonderful singer is James Bay. Since he has started his music career he has been doing better every single day. He is a singer-songwriter and guitarist. The kind of music he mostly writes is Indie Rock, rock, and Soul music. In 2015 Chaos and Calm was released and every other album her released was only an EP. He has been an active artist since 2013.

Sorry if you cannot read the picture but is says I used to recognize myself, it's funny how reflections change. Those lyrics are from the song Let It Go. Basically the whole song is saying let whatever you're holding onto go. If something isn't working out with your partner let them go. I love this song so much.

The Dark Of The Moment:

The Dark Of The Moment was the first EP released by James Bay. It includes five different songs. The songs are Move Together, Need The Sun To Break, When We Were On Fire, Stealing Cars, and Clocks Go Forward. The release date was on July 18, 2013.






Let It Go:

Let It Go is another EP and actually the first four albums from James Bay are only EPs. There is also five songs on this EP. The songs are Let It Go, If You Ever Want To Be In Love, Heavy Handed, Hear Your Heart, and  Running. The release date for this EP was May 12, 2014.

Hold Back The River:

The next EP is Hold Back The River. Hold Back The River actually doesn't have five songs like the other two it only has four songs. The songs are Hold Back The River, Sparks, Wait In Line, and Hold Back The River (Live At The Hotel Cafe). This EP was released on November 17, 2014.

Other Sides:

This is James Bays fourth EP before he released his album Chaos And The Calm. Just like all the other EPs there are not a full albums worth of songs, there are about six songs. THe songs are Sparks, Wait In Line, Running, Hear Your Heart, Heavy Handed, and Hold Back The River (Live at the Hotel Cafe/2014). This EP was released on January 13, 2015.



Chaos And Calm:

Chaos And The Calm is the first actual album James Bay released which was actually released on March 23, 2015. The first song I heard on this album was Let It Go and that when I instantly fell in love with James Bay! This album is one of my favorite albums ever. Every song on here is so calming even if it is one of the rock songs on the album.  This album was so good that is was actually nominated in the Grammys. Sadly is didn't win but I think i should have!

We're just livin' in Paradise

Going back to writing about the different artist I really like. This time I'm going to write about Jack and Jack. They are actually not a band, they are actually two singers. Jack Johnson is now 20 (as of March 24 actually) and Jack Gilinsky is still 19 and will be 20 on September 10. Jack and Jack have released one EP and the rest are singles, so no full albums. There are about 18 singles and altogether there are about 22 songs they have released. There are actually a couple of songs that just have Jack Johnson.

Calibraska 

Calibraska is Jack and Jack's first EP. It has the songs California, Shallow Love, Wrong One, and How We Livin'. This EP came out July 24, 2015. I was with two of my friends and I made them stay up with me the night it came out just so I could buy this EP. I got very lucky because i just had enough money on my phone for this Ep. I got to say I love all the songs on here so much, but I think my favorite is CAlifornia. 

 Another song I could not wait to hear was Groove. I was actually with the same two friends I was with (when I wanted to get Calibraska) when that song came out but sadly I wasn't home so i couldn't buy that song till about two days later. I gotta say that song was very good for sure!

I find it so hard to come up with  my favorite song. I do though have a list of my top six songs. It was really hard to do. I tried my hardest to put them in number order from least favorite to most favorite at the moment. Here you go!

6. Paradise (Never Change) by Jack and Jack

This wasn't the first song by Jack and Jack I have heard but I have love this song since I first heard it. This song came out in 2014 and is the third song released by Jack and Jack. My favorite lyrics from this song are Ain't a dream so open your eyes, we're just livin' in Paradise. Those lyrics just seem happy and to just forget all that bad that could be going on. Also when you're with someone you should be happy.

5. Reflections by Misterwives

Reflections is the third song on Misterwives first album Our Own House. This was actually the first song I had heard from Misterwives and instantly loved it. Its pretty upbeat and a song to dance to. My favorite lyrics from this song are Shattering anything That has reflections of you. I feel like this song may seem like you should be confident. Just because someone breaks your heart you can still go on by yourself and you don't need to be upset about it. Basically forget the bad people in your life.

4. How To Be A Heartbreaker by Marina And The Diamonds 

4 Rules

This is the very first song I heared by Marina And The Diamonds. I think I was with my two friends and we watched the music video so I could watch the video and listen to the song. I think the music video went great with the song. I give this song and video a 10 out of 10 for sure. I love how it has the four rules to be a heartbreaker. This song is on the album Electra Heart and is the 12 song on the album. My favorite rule is probably rule #2. That rule is Rule #2 Just don't get attached to somebody you could lose.  This is very true because if you get attached to someone you could lose you will get hurt.

3. Riptide by Vance Joy

This song makes me happy! I just love this song. I actually don't have a reason why I like this song other than I just love this song. It pretty calming and seems happy! (:

2. Afraid by The Neighbourhood

First of all this gif is actually from the music video. Anyways the song Afraid is probably one of the most deep songs for Jesse Rutherford (The neighbourhoods lead singer). The song is basically one big insecurity for Jesse. Throughout the whole song he's saying how he is afraid. I think some of the most important and my favorite lyrics are Being me can only mean Feeling scared to breath.  Jesse saying how scared and insecure he is and it's pretty sad. 

1. Don't Threaten Me With A Good Time by Panic! At The Disco

I have no idea what it is about this song but is my favorite song since Panic At The Discos album Death Of A Bachelor came out in January. This song is so upbeat and just great. I always listen to this song when I listen to music on my phone. I don't have any favorite lyrics from this song but I think all of them are pretty great. Also the caption or title for this post is actually from this song!

I'm going to do something a little different this time. I am going to talk about the kind of music I listen to. The answer to that is any type of Indie or Alternative music. Usually my music is just those two genres.

You May Have noticed some of the bands/ singers was repeated in both Indie Artists and Alternative Artists. That's probably why I love both genres! 

I was the odd one out of the bunch?

If I tell someone I listen to the Neighbourhood and they don't know that the Neighbourhood is a band they tell me something about what Neighbourhood are you listening to? If you don't know, The Neighbourhood is my favorite band. Okay wait a second maybe not. Well I'm not sure if The Neighbourhood or Panic! At The Disco is my favorite band. How about this they are tied as my favorite band(s)! I love them both too much to choose.

The Members (:

The Neighbourhood is a band that started in 2011 in Newbury  Park, California. The band has had six members all together, but only five remain. The five members are the lead singer Jesse Rutherford, two guitarist Zachary Abels and Jeremy Freeman, the bassist Michael Margott, the drummer Brandon Alexander Fried, and a past member Bryan Simmons. The bands genres are Indie Rock and Alternative Rock. They had three EP's released before their first album and they actually had released a mixtape after the first album.

The lyrics I was the odd one out of the bunch is from the song West Coast. I relate to these lyrics and actually this whole song a lot. The song is about California and saying that its always a happy place when it not always as happy as people make it seem. Also I relate to the lyrics because I always feel really odd compared to everyone else, but that's okay.

I'm Sorry:

The EP I'm Sorry was The Neighbourhoods first EP. The songs on this EP are Leaving Tonight, Baby Come Home, and Wires. All the songs are great, but that goes for every single song by The Neighbourhood.








The Love Collection:

The Love Collection was the band's second EP. The songs that are this EP are West Coast, No Grey, and $ting. All three of these songs are great. Please Please listen to all three of these songs.

Thank You:

The last EP is Thank You. I love all the EP covers and the names. Oh Yea of course the songs too! The songs on this EP are Let It Go (this Let It Go i the best song you will every hear and I relate to this song so much) and A Little Death.

I Love You:

I Love You was The Neighbourhoods first album, which was released on April 22, 2013. If you haven't heard the song Sweater Weather then I would think Maybe you're not someone who listens to the radio or not in 2013? That's perfectly fine if you don't listen to the radio (I dislike listening to radio but if you like the radio that's fine) but the only reason why I mentioned the radio or Sweater Wheather was because this song actually made it onto the radio! Woop Woop! Other than that I love this album so very much. Not a single song on this album is bad (let alone any song by The Neighbourhood) its actually very very hard to choose my favorite song from this album. If I had to choose my favorite song from this album it would probably have to be W.D.Y.W.F.M. Yeah probably that song.



#000000&#FFFFFFF:

#000000&#FFFFFF  is a mix tape and by the title and cover it's easier to tell that. The mix tape is basically another album just different types of songs. Even though this album is still good, it is my least favorite releases by The Neighbourhood. #icanteven is actually my favorite song on this mixtape/album.

Wiped Out:

For the past two weeks I've been listening to the album Wiped Out constantly. When the album first came out on October 30, 2015 I didn't really listen to it at all till a few weeks ago. All the songs on here are amazing. The first single for this  album was R.I.P To My Youth. I love that song so much! You, yes you should definitely listen to this song like now! Another song I really like that's on this album is Cry Baby. I feel that I could relate to part of the song and its overall a great song.

I have four words for you. Panic! At The Disco. 

As you may have noticed in my first post I had stated Panic! At The Disco is one of my favorite bands. Well now they're going to really start this blog off. In order to start off, first thing you need to do in know who Panic! is. Number one this still is a band even though there is one constant remaining member to the band. That member happens to be Brendon Urie, a 28 year old singer with an incredible voice. I don't expect you to know any of this and that's why I'm telling you. 

In 2004 the band Panic! At The Disco was formed with four members. The members were Brendon Urie, Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith, and Brent Wilson. Currently the band just has Brendon Urie, but also has touring members such as Dallon Weekes, Dan Pawlovich, and Kenneth Harris. The band has recorded and released Five albums since the beginning. The albums are A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, Pretty Odd, Vices & Virtues, Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die, and lastly Death of a Bachelor. 

In this picture there is some song lyrics from the song Death Of A Bachelor along with Brendon Urie in the background. The lyrics 'Smile even though you're sad' are really important to remember. I always need to remember this, even though I don't always remember I try too. I this this is something everyone needs to think of. I love the song Death of A Bachelor and everyone should listen to it, it's awesome. 

Albums:

A Fever You Can't Sweat Out: 

The album A Fever You Can't Sweat Out was Panic's! first album, which came out on September 27, 2005. The most popular song on this album is I Write Sins Not Tragedies. My favorite songs on this album are either Time to Dance or But Its Better If You Do. I would really recommend to listen to this album and then you can know how Panic! At The Disco was like from the beginning. 

Pretty Odd:

On March 21, 2008 the next album Pretty Odd was released. The songs in this album are inspired by The Beatles and The Beach Boys. My favorite song in this album is probably Mad As Rabbits or She Had The World. Although this is still a good album this has to be my least favorite album of all of them. 

Vices & Virtues: 

Vices & Virtues was released on March 28, 2011. All the songs on this album are great. My favorite of them all is The Ballad Of Mona Lisa or Sarah Smiles. Actually Sarah Smiles is dedicated to Brendon Urie's wife, Sarah Urie. The song is basically of how they met and how Brendon fell in love with Sarah. Its such a nice song it makes me so happy. (:  

Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die:

Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die would have to be my favorite album. Every song on here is excellent. On February 13, 2013 was the release date for this album. Of all the songs on here my favorite is Girls/Girls/Boys. The most popular song is probably This Is Gospel, which has a second part in the next album actually. In the music video at the end there is kind of a cliff-hanger which will lead to the second part. 

With all the songs being upbeat there is one song at the end of the album, to end it that's really slow/ calming. The End Of All Things its calming and sad. I have actually wanted to cry (yeah, yeah laugh but you will understand if you become a fan that's really into the band) because of how sad Brendon sounded. 

Death Of A Bachelor:

I know I said that Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die is my favorite album but I think Death Of A Bachelor ties with it. Towards the beginning of this year another great album was released on January 15, 2016. The album is actually dedicated to most of the time Brendon Urie had spent alone during his childhood. I think every song on this album is basically perfect. Every song is very upbeat till the very last song. The last song Impossible Year is calming and ending the album, just like The End of All Things in Too Weird to Live, Too Rare To Die. I love listening to Don't Threaten Me With A Good time the most. When I'm listening to music in the car I always have to turn the music up high and jam out to this song. I do that with the rest of the songs on this album too, just not as much. I definitely recommend listening to this album on repeat all the time! I forgot I didn't mention what song was the second part/ song for This Is Gospel. The song is The Emperor's New Clothes. Yea it doesn't sound like it would be the second part but it is. When you watch the music video you see where h was headed to from the This Is Gospel music video. 

I definitely recommend for most anyone to listen to Panic! At The Disco. ((:

This is Gospel
